Principal Investigator
Shinmin Wang(王馨敏, CV) received her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of York, UK. In 2015, she joined the Department of Child and Family Science at National Taiwan Normal University as an Assistant Professor, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2018, and became a Professor in 2022. She currently serves as Head of the Department and has been awarded the title of Distinguished Professor (2025–2028) in recognition of her contributions to research and service in early childhood development and education.
Dr. Shinmin Wang’s research focuses on the brain network underlying language and literacy development during infancy and early childhood. Her recent work examines how early experiences with dialogic reading shape children’s language and cognitive development across the toddler and preschool years, as well as the neural mechanisms associated with prediction and executive function. She employs functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), along with observational methods and LENA recordings of natural parent-child interactions, to investigate these processes.
